SD: Would you call yourself a health freak-elaborate?
I wouldn’t call myself a complete health freak, however it is important to me to be able to maintain healthy weight. Not really a health freak but my happiness lies in being healthy.

SD: Eating Healthy or Working Out?
Working out without eating healthy is a waste of time I believe. Good diet works like magic!

SD: What is your philosophy on health and fitness?
Health and fitness should be done joyfully while keeping the healthy part intact. Of course, that doesn’t mean one should starve. Food education really helps too- knowing what to eat & what not to is important to keeping the long-term health focus going.

SD: Do you believe in cheat days? If so, what’s the main item on the menu?
I don’t actually keep planned cheat days- I just do it. Anything yummy like burgers, pizzas or even the ultimate and delectable’desi karahi’works for me to tick it off as a cheat day.

SD: Any fad diets that worked for you?
Not really. The best diet that works for me is to eat grilled meats, take in good portions of vegetables and fruits as well as consume very less carbs. This food intake keeps me fit and healthy. Also I take in a lot of water and all-natural foods.

SD: Your wellness routine before going to bed?
I don’t have a wellness routine as such, although having a good cup of green tea is always benefitting.

SD: The first thing you aim to do right after waking up?
I try to work out right after waking up. I have weights at home. It gives me a great kick start to the day.

SD: How do you keep your workout interesting at home during pandemic?
I keep it interesting with adding just a bit of music to it. Also, I do slow controlled movements; this keeps it effective and less challenging.

SD: What remains your favorite healthy food/recipe?
I would say ‘daal without tarka’. I also enjoy tikka chicken, brown rice, and even grilled fish.

SD: Working out at home or the gym?
Working out at home. Gym is also nice though; it gives you added energy.

SD: From where does your inspiration to living fit comes from?
Looking into how our own beloved Prophet PBUH was always fit and healthy, consuming only enough to keep himself energized. This isn’t a new trend, remaining healthy has always been around.

SD: A fitness guru you idolize?
I idolize DwayneJohnson- The Rock. He’s amazing.

What are your picks for
the following perfect meals?

Breakfast: Fruits and almonds
Pre-workout: Blackcoffee, apple and bananas
Post-workout: Eggs or some other protein source
Dinner: Less carbs more protein
Snacks: Fruits, tea and salad
Guilty pleasures: I have many. Sometimes I completely let myself go and let my cravings take charge. I can’t control that- it’s the Kashmiri in me.
