CELEB FITNESS IN FOCUS Here’s Sana Fakhar spilling her secrets to Social Diary

With the onset of a pandemic, remaining fit is becoming a tad harder than usual. Here’s to getting inspiration from your favorite stars on how to keep the rhythm going and maintaining a whole some lifestyle.

What is your philosophy on health and fitness?
For me health is not feeling okay or average. It is when you feel happy like a child. There is no stress, no pressure and you wake up with immense amount of energy and enthusiasm. That is the kind of health I strive for. My philosophy is to make people understand that health is associating to a number. Even if you reach a certain age, get married, have children, you should still aim to live in a wholesome lifestyle, it is possible and only depends on you and your willpower!

Eating Healthy or Working Out? What works better for you?
You must have heard of the saying ‘you are what you eat’. It definitely stands true. For me working out also goes hand in hand, as it not only helps to keep you physically strong, but it also works to give you strong mental health, overcoming your issues of anxiety, stress or anything unpleasant that is affecting you greatly. Working out helps to give you a lifestyle which is healthy on every level.

Would you call yourself a health freak-elaborate?
I would definitely call myself a disciplined person because while it is difficult to carry and to keep discipline in your life is tough, but once you start adapting it properly in your daily routine, your life will become easy.

Your wellness routine before going to bed?
First and foremost, because of my workout routine, I don’t have to face a lot of hassle or concern when it comes to forming a stable sleeping routine. Most of the time, I do have a peaceful sleeping pattern. Although I do try to not watch television at least one hour before sleeping. I try to avoid any such turmoil or distracting news which can affect my peaceful mindset and just stick to completing my skincare routine before hitting the bed.

Your views on adapting superficial standards of beauty? How can these be rectified?
In this day and age where social media and the internet is readily available for us to figure out wholesome lifestyle habits, it is still surprising to see people trying to find quick solutions to looking and feeling good. Identify the fake, superficial narratives and understand that your own self-confidence is the key to attaining your natural beauty.

From where does your inspiration to living fit comes from?
I get inspired from a lot of people. Even still I strive to get motivation from success stories. I can’t name just one person but I would say it was the criticism I attained after having my baby when I did gain weight. I used that criticism in a productive way. I remember how once shopping, I came across an acquaintance and I said hello but he didn’t recognize me. I think that hit me hard but it inspired me to move forth with the willingness to change.

Do you follow and adapt meditation tactics in your daily routine
Not exactly as I don’t really have time for me to get into meditation techniques. Also, my kids are very young and since meditation requires precise focus and dedication, my kids continuously knock-on doors even if I’m away for a little way. Definitely not on the cards right now.

Do you believe in cheat days? If so, what’s the main item on the menu?
Of course. In fact I sometimes I wait for it. I love eating. Whatever I have been craving the whole week, is what I treat and indulge in on my cheat day. Usually its desi food like ‘channayparathay, halwa’ and lots of things.

What is your health motto?
Keep your life balanced. Access of everything is bad and you need to strike a good balance to keep it smooth and consistent. Whether it’s your public persona or being at home, we need to keep a balance amongst our various roles to keep it running smoothly in perfect harmony.

When out with friends, where do you often like to dine?
I prefer good Chinese restaurants when dining out with friends and peers.

A fitness guru you idolize?
I come across a lot of fitness trainers who introduce different training tactics. As an actor, I look towards a lot of celebs who inspire me like Halle Berry’s workout styles. I like Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise’s working out regime too. My idea is not to just get your body fit, but also get your mental strength in order, so you can live your life to the fullest. Your energy should speak for itself and I idolize people who are energetic and living the enthusiasm fully.

The first thing you aim to do right after waking up?
I control my mind, before my mind controls me.

Working out at home or the gym?
Both. I think my time more precious than anything so whenever I find, so the location depends on whatever is available when I have the time..

Berry-Berry.
