Zeenat (Taneez Jewelry)
Taneez has noticed a growing path to less expensive jewelry, which will not bode well for the new styles emanating from the West, which is large necklaces but smaller earrings, sometimes none.
Then there are those headbands, floral, combined with shiny zircons and some just woven or crocheted, again flowers or butterflies, pearls and metal. We are known for our pure silver and semi precious gems, none of the above fitted in our scheme of things. So since our calligraphic earrings, bracelets and pendants, work for our customers, we will do more, a little differently, and with Paui shell, and mirror. And some unusual necklaces, kundan, modern style.

The year 2016 has seen a steady rise in demand of diamond accent rings which offer elaborate side views next to the centre piece. I anticipate this trend to continually rise in the year 2017. While the single solitaire ring will always hold its appeal, the intricate details on the side of the band or around the centre stone makes ones ring unique and personal. A huge number of people around the world are opting for accent diamonds rings for their engagements or weddings. Such a setting gives a richer look to the ring and makes it look beautiful from every angle. I highly recommend an accent stone ring to everyone, especially if the solitaire diamond is less than 2 carats.

I am very excited to be working on a new collection which will showcase lovely organic textures and forms. I am experimenting with some unusual jewellery crafting techniques and using a variety of uncut stones interspersed with baroque pearls. This is challenging but I’m positive the outcome will be beautiful. 2017 is predicted to be the year of extravagant accessories! Over-sized earrings and statement arm cuffs will be all the rage. Exaggerated motifs and long, layered necklaces showcasing beautiful raw stones and pearls will dominate the fashion world. Few may be bold enough to even don the trend of the single large earring- a style statement we recently witnessed on the ramp at New York and Paris Fashion Week. The choker has been the accessory of 2016, and it’s here to stay for a while longer. However, the bold chokers seen in past season will give way to wisps of fabric, ribbon or delicate chainmail in the coming year. These can be layered with longer necklaces to create a more dynamic look.
