How would you describe your design philosophy at HSY?
Regal, Timeless and Global are few of the words that I would use to describe the HSY design philosophy.
Can you talk a bit about your design process, from start to finish?
The creative process always starts with an inspiration, a motivation. In the second step, the thoughts are translated into images/sketches followed by fabrics, silhouettes then production and delivery to customers.
What are the biggest challenges that you have to face while working in this profession?
The biggest challenge I suppose is to operate in a market which is constantly involving and at the same time a market which cherishes individuality and a distinct design philosophy.
Would it be fair to say that the fashion industry is helping traditional artisans by giving them employment and popularising their trade?
Yes I would agree to that. If I talk about the brand HSY, we initiated and still continue to work with such artisans; ‘Shergarh’ project is something very close to my heart.
What can we look forward to seeing from you next at HSY?
I have a lot of projects in the pipeline. Will announce them at the right time J
There are quite a few talented designers that have emerged in the industry – any particular favourites? If so what do you like about their work?
I wouldn’t want to name anyone particular but I feel in the last few years quite a few very talented designers have come in the limelight. Hats off to different Fashion councils for promoting such talent.
Being one of leading name in fashion & entertainment industry, how do you see your association with leading global technology brand OPPO?
I’m absolutely thrilled to be representing OPPO in Pakistan. My association with the brand is a testament of my belief in the brand’s philosophy of fusing style with technology. Smartphones in today’s day and age are seen less as electronic devices and more as lifestyle statement amongst people.
Where there are so many other competing brands, why you chose to endorse this certain brand?
As I mentioned above, my association with the brand is a testament of my belief in the brand’s philosophy of fusing style with technology to create a unique fashion and lifestyle statement.

What is the biggest challenge of being in public eye?
I suppose you are always under the microscope and sometimes even when you are having a bad day; you have to always keep a smiling face.
How do you deal with pressure and stress?
I see my work as my passion and it helps me in stressing time and pressure situations.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I work out! Gym is a second home to me.
First thing you notice about opposite sex?
Attitude!
Craziest thing you have done with your friends/family?
Skydiving! It’s was the most amazing experience ever.
