With the onset of a pandemic, remaining fit is becoming a tad harder than usual. Here’s to getting inspiration from your favorite stars on how to keep the rhythm going and maintaining a whole some lifestyle.
What is your philosophy on health and fitness?
My body and I have a very healthy and intimate relationship. You can say my body speaks to me when it needs something. If you don’t take care of your health, how would you be able to take care of yourself completely?
Do you believe in cheat days? If so, what’s the main item on the menu?
I love cheat days. And I decide and alternate on my own will, indulging in goodness of pizzas, burgers. I believe in eating junk food and then burning it in the gym.
Yes definitely. I am one to get up early, starting off with my workouts. It is impertinent that I take care of my diet the whole day. I also keep a good check on my water intake.
Recently I was starting off a new project where I was to lose a lot of weight. While I was already going to the gym, I was told of the popular GM diet that a friend was doing and she told me that I will drastically lose weight which turned out to be true as I did it twice. However, I also instantly gained it back again. So yeah, these fad diets, they come and go, however but if you stick to a constant plan, being healthy as a lifestyle, I believe that is the effective wholesome way of maintaining a good weight in the long run.
I try every alternate day to do different kinds of yoga. Like one day, I do stretching and the next, I will take on hatha yoga or sometimes before bed, I will do some breathing exercises. So yes, I do take on some meditation techniques before hitting the bed.
When I’m dancing, I go to a studio, otherwise I do have a little basement studio right at home. Due to the pandemic, I have created a nice ambience in my own place to do yoga and dance. However, for my hardcore weightlifting, I do hit the gym and workout with my personal trainer.
I have this crazy deal going for me where I am so fond of dancing, you have absolutely no idea. Workouts for me at home are pretty easy and comfortable since I’m a yogi and a dancer. So you just give me a room and I’ll manage a full body workout.
My quick to go healthy food is a multigrain slice, with some avocado and a few cucumber slices on it and I’m good to go.
First thig is definitely to get up sideways, the second thing that I am really trying to adapt is that I should drink a cup of water. It’s one thing I’ve been hearing from my mom, and Nano used to say that I should have water as soon as I wake up.Also I try to indulge in an apple in the first half an hour since waking up.
Yes, I definitely do. I wakeup at 8:30am and sleep late at night having a hectic routine throughout the day. I take out time to meditate for a few minutes, also doing my breathing exercises. Also, if I get time on the sets, I do my stretching and if I get even a little more time, I also do some dancing in a corner. Free hand exercise can be done anywhere, remember that!
Me being in this industry for so long where i meet people of all kinds. Like those who look healthy but they get tired real fast and then they have skin problems and health issues. So the first thing I tell them is that they need to be healthy from the inside.
I started thinking about staying fit at a very early age. My father was in the Army who was vigorously following the very effective Army fitness regime; he even had the dumb bells and ropes at home. My mother was also into yoga so I had gotten my inspiration to remain fit from both of my parents. And I started my gym workouts pretty soon having my first bicep pop out at the age of 16.

I started yoga you could say 7-8 years ago and it was Shakila Hasan introduced me to it. She has beenmy guru and mentor all these years, guiding me as I gain inspiration from her amazingness every day.
