Yep, the rumors are true. It has happened- Indian actor ‘Kartik’ took to Twitter to share a teaser of the upcoming music video from his new film, which is a remake of the popular Pakistani song Pasoori that was originally featured on Coke Studio and sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill. In the teaser, Kartik and Kiara are seen sharing an onscreen romance while dressed in matching white outfits. The song’s re-creation features the vocals of Arijit Singh, and the teaser offers a sneak peek of him singing the title track. Naturally many haven’t been taking it so well-Following the release of the teaser, netizens took to reacting to it on social media. While Kartik’s fans expressed their admiration with heart emojis, some individuals criticized the makers of the music video. One of the users commented, “Kartik, I was literally planning to watch this movie but now I won’t.” Another user wrote, “This was so not needed..as much as i like Arijit, was it not enough of having to listen to him on every other song that you guys had to remake this in his voice again! Another comment read, “How did the makers of this song let it happen to their very own song?” Honestly, we are thinking the same.
The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese
