A Glimpse into ‘Hum Kahan Kay Sacchay Thay’
The multi-talented star, Usman Mukhtar recently took to his Instagram and penned down a heartfelt note related to his new drama serial ‘Hum Kahan Kay SacchayThay’ which recently went on air. Sharing a picture with his co-stars Mahira Khan and Kubra Khan, Mukhtar went on to write, “Children are fearless, unbiased, unaffected by the madness of this world. They see life in the purest way. They do not see color, race, or social status. They are born pure until the world corrupts them.” Keeping to the narrative, he further talks about how growing up, the harsh realities of the world can change a child. “You and I both were little humans without any concern, without the knowledge of what emotional pain is, without any bias, without any fear. Until the world happened to us, slowly teaching us about what negative emotions are. Slowly becoming bitter with the harsh realities of what we see around.” “For a moment, think about who you used to be before all this happened to you. Think about who you were and if that person was happier than right now, tap into that person. You are still that person”, he says and reminds us all that we may not be that different than we think we are.

Spotlight on Unsafe Abortions
Globally, each year 20 million women undergo unsafe abortions, out of whom 2.6 million lose their lives. In Pakistan statistics reveal that almost 900,000 abortions take place each year – four times higher than that of the United States – resulting in 10-12% of maternal deaths. Most of these women are married, poor and live in rural areas. The most common reasons for pregnancy- termination include an absence of family-planning protocols and the unavailability and general disdain of contraception. Frieha Altaf in her Urduflix web series ‘Dai’ is evil, sadistic and conflicted. She performs unsafe and life-threatening abortions purely for monetary gain buoyed by angst-ridden and callous pleasure. She said about her role: “As evil as my character Dai may be, I hope to create widespread awareness of the indubitably unsafe methods of abortion that continue to give rise to unnecessary maternal deaths in Pakistan.”
Twitteratis Enjoy the Hunt for Rahul
Despite the seeming chaos around us, some kind-hearted individuals make the world a better place to live. A Pakistani man on Twitter went to great lengths to track down ‘Rahul’ in London to return his wallet. “Guys! Just found this wallet on Shoreditch High street,” he wrote on Twitter, sharing a picture of the wallet. “Name on the bank card suggests the wallet belongs to a Rahul R******. Time to hunt Rahul down,” he said. Despite some setbacks , he was able to finally track down the address of Rahul’s workplace. “Anjali-style running to his head office now. He better not have canceled his bank cards else this was for nothing. Rahul, I’m coming!”… the filmi style updates continued. Hallelujah! The effort finally paid off when he did at last manage to track down Rahul. Moreover, he shared a picture for everyone who was now following his journey on Twitter with much interest. We are so glad this story had a happy ending and it was nothing short of that of a Karan Johar film!
Making History at the Olympics! Bravo Nadeem
Pakistan’s athlete Arshad Nadeem has made us all proud and made history as he qualified for the final of javelin throw competition in the Tokyo Olympics. He has become the first-ever Pakistani athlete to qualify for the final of any track and field event in the Olympics. The Pakistani javelin thrower was placed in group B for the contest in which the athlete had to throw a minimum of 83.5m to directly qualify for the final. Only six athletes could do so, and Arshad was one of them while the rest of the six athletes advanced to the finals on the basis of their respective farthest throw. In his first attempt, the 24-year-old Pakistani athlete could reach the 78.5m mark but in the second attempt, Arshad created history with a throw of 85.16m that also placed him on top of group B. We are rooting for you!
