Syra Yousuf and Shahroz Sabzwari's Intense On-Screen Reunion in 'Babylicious'

Former couple Syra Yousuf and Shahroz Sabzwari are set to captivate audiences with their on-screen reunion in the upcoming film “Babylicious.” Despite their real-life separation, the duo’s professional collaboration has sparked curiosity among fans. The Express Tribune caught up with Syra, Shahroz, and other cast members to delve into the details of this highly anticipated movie.

“Babylicious” is slated for release on June 27, coinciding with Eidul Azha, and aims to capture hearts with its heartwarming storyline. In a circulating clip, Syra and Shahroz playfully debated whether the film falls under the category of a date film or a family film. Although Shahroz initially claimed it was a family film, he contradicted himself during the recent conversation, saying, “We want you to watch it thrice: with your family on the first day of Eid, on a date on the second day, and alone on the third day.”

The question of whether it is a date film or a family film was also posed to other cast members, Mohi Abro and Aadi Adeal Amjad. Mohi expressed that it was a significant issue, while Aadi suggested it could be enjoyed both on a date and with family, as it appeals to different generations.

The journey of “Babylicious” has been a long one, with several years of development and production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Shahroz expressed relief that the film is finally seeing the light of day. Both Syra and Shahroz shared their excitement about the film’s release and their satisfaction with the final product.
When asked about their on-screen collaboration despite their separation, Syra emphasized the importance of maintaining healthy family dynamics for the sake of their child. Shahroz echoed her sentiments, stating that they are in a good and healthy place and will see where life takes them.
Reflecting on the film itself, Syra mentioned its relatable characters and the overall feel-good vibe that is sure to entertain audiences. Shahroz emphasized the importance of supporting Pakistani films and feeling proud of the local industry’s accomplishments.

The actors highlighted different reasons for the audience to watch “Babylicious.” Shahroz mentioned the film’s ability to evoke butterflies in one’s stomach, while Syra emphasized that everyone has experienced a Babylicious phase in their lives, making it relatable and nostalgic.
When it comes to public opinion and critique, both actors acknowledged the value of constructive criticism, as it helps them improve their work. However, they also noted that excessive criticism without reason is best treated as noise.

Other cast members, Mohi Abro and Aadi Adeal Amjad, shared their excitement and happiness about the film’s release. Mohi expressed gratitude that their hard work would finally be seen by audiences, while Aadi praised the positive energy and professionalism of Syra and Shahroz on set.
