After a month of spiritual reflection and uplifting, dressing up in their very special Eid clothes, friends and families would hit the cinemas to catch on major movie releases that are great, happening, has their favorite movie stars and makes for a great Eid weekend! However with the onset of the pandemic, for two years, the cinematic experience had been put to a major halt. Things had definitely gone downhill globally, but for Pakistan, it was rather even more impactful as the movies in production had come to a halt, leading to extreme losses. But alas, that was a while ago and things are finally looking brighter as the cinemas are back! This Eid, get yourselves all hooked to a major movie mania as Pakistan is all set to release major titles. Pakistani film industry is all set to enthrall the audience with power pack entertainment. The trailers promise fun, suspense, thrill, romance and comedy. Check them out:
Dum Mastaam
This title’s stellar cast has us all excited! Renowned TV artist Imran Ashraf and Amar Khan’s fascinating trailer promises comedy, romance and a lot of happening and thrilling moments. Shining the light on all the greatness that Lahore has to offer, it shares the tale of a Lahori ‘munda’ falling for his neighbor and whatever takes place soon after. The film is produced by Akhtar Hasnain and Adnan Siddiqui. Ehtashamuddin’s directorial venture promises a story more than a mere romantic comedy and knowing the potential that ‘Imran Ashraf’ is capable of portraying, we definitely wouldn’t mind hitting the cinemas for this one sooner than soon!
Ghabrana Nahi Hai
Another film Ghabrana Nahi Hai is directed by Saqib Khan. Saba Qamar and Zahid Ahmed are in leading roles of this mega project promising to be an action-packed ride for lovers of desi crime thrillers. If we just go by the trailer, it unpacks a love triangle, themes of corruption, debauchery and women being undermined or exploited under situations of extreme political pressure. While there isn’t much more revealed in the trailer, what we have seen and determined is how it has Saba once again taking on a rather unconventional role which is representing her plethora of acting skills. Zahid isn’t disappointing and we need to add how Rambo’s comical timing couldn’t be perfect! Talk about bits and pieces of perfection coming together.
Chakkar
So here is a whole new genre for you to enjoy this Eid. Yasir Nawaz’s upcoming murder-mystery and thriller, Chakkar is one of the major Eid releases that is creating quite the buzz already. While Yasir is known to be a versatile artist whose work has always been over the top with plenty of masla and entertainment, this time around he has hit onto something new. Chakkar is a murder mystery starring Neelam Muneer and Ahsan Khan. With Neelam portraying a dual role, there is a lot of suspense and excitement at the same time. That is what makes it a major watch. While we have been hooked to Hollywood biggies on suspense, crime and drama, it is time we hit on our own productions which are also offering something of the same sorts. This is the only way we will be able to give the local cinema houses the boost they definitely need!
Tere Bajre Di Rakhi
Finally we have something solid coming from the Punjabi movie sector as well. This is an upcoming comedy, tragedy, action and drama film written and directed by the most established film director of Lollywood, Syed Noor and produced by Safdar Malik. It stars the famous TikTok star Jannat Mirza who is joined by none other than Saima for an extremely riveting experience which deserves to have a cinematic unveiling,.The filming began on 15th of December, 2019 but was halted due to the pandemic. However it is finally up for a theatrical release and we are all hooked for this one!
Parde Mein Rehne Do
So here is a movie title which hits on taboo topics, which finally should be getting the light of day! The film revolves around a young married couple, Nazo and Shani, who are unable to have a child for years. And it finally comes to the point where the wife suggests that it isn’t only her, but her spouse too who should be getting tested for infertility. While this is a representation of a highly important topic, the limelight on this with a touch of comedy with the amazing starring duo Hania Aamir and Ali Rehman Khan is what makes this movie a really important one to watch and ponder upon.
