When it comes to how you do gardening, you need to make sure you have everything in order. And that means you are well taking care of the weeds situation as well. Nothing gets you more upset than seeing these pesky things in your well grown and well loved garden. But here’s the good news- you need not worry about it! There are so many ways in which you can actually control that growth and well look after your garden settings with the same. I want to highlight how you can ensure your garden is looking great at all times. It isn’t as hard to imagine and work on. You have to just commit to taking care of that weed situation strongly. There are actually some pretty simple and natural ways in which you can combat the weed situation. Who says you need standard weeding tools to kill weeds? Here are some ways to kill weeds in ways which come natural and don’t require a lot of struggle from your end:

Using Old Newspapers
You are probably wondering how would that even work? Well, a carpet of newspaper, which blocks sunlight and oxygen from reaching the soil, will smother weeds already sprouted and prevent new ones from growing. Throw down newspaper in 10-sheet layers, wet to hold it down, and cover with an inch or two of mulch. If weeds begin to grow in the mulch, add more layers, making a mulch-newspaper lasagna, which eventually will decompose and nourish the soil.
Shower-Curtains Work Too!
So this basically relates to when you will be spreading the old, used shower curtains in garden paths or between rows as this will keep weeds from ever showing their unwanted heads. Cover with mulch and just see how it effectively takes care of the job!
Corn Gluten Meal
Yep, even corn can get the job done in exemplary ways! This corn by-product stops seeds from growing into weeds. Since the meal will prevent germination, spread it around established plants, and after seedlings and transplants have taken hold in the soil. After harvest, spread the meal to prevent late-season weeds.
How About Some Vinegar?
Did you know that the acetic acid in 5% vinegar is a desiccant that sucks the life out of plant leaves. It’s most destructive to young plants with immature roots, though it just rolls off weeds with waxy leaves, like pennywort or thistle.Make sure you cover desirables before spraying, because vinegar is an equal opportunity killer. Keep your spray on-target by removing the bottom from a 2-liter plastic soda bottle, and placing it over the weed. Spray vinegar into the mouth of the bottle, which will keep it from splattering on your vegetables.
Making Use of Soap
Here’s something you should know- soaps can be used in a large number of ways. The oil in soap can break down waxy or hairy weed surfaces, making them vulnerable to desiccants. So add a few drops of liquid dish detergent to vinegar or vodka sprays to keep the solution on leaves. The soap also makes leaves shiny, which will help you keep track of what you’ve sprayed.
Boiling Water Effects
As the name suggests, you will make use of extremely hot water and pour it onto the weeds. That just completely kills them off. The right word would be it actually completely burns them up. This is a particularly good way to whack driveway and walkway weeds, because the boiling water can run off impervious surfaces and cool before it reaches border plants.
Good Ol’ Salt
As it turns out, even regular salt can do some amazing tricks for you. All you need to do is pinch down at the base of these unwanted plants. And when you do, it will be killing the weeds and making sure the solution is such that it impacts and allows your plants to grow strongly. But there’s a catch- you have to make sure you are using the right amount. Put just a pinch down at the base of each unwanted plant. It might kill the weedy offender and get diluted within a couple of rainfalls. Salt will render the soil uninhabitable for several months, so make sure you apply just a small amount and only where needed. Avoid getting it on your grass or other plants.
