But direct application of lemon on the skin is not ideal. The antimicrobial, de-tanning and cleansing properties of lemon help in making your skin spotless and beautiful. Here are a few skincare benefits of lemon that you can easily try out at home.
The Acne Controller
Thanks to their antimicrobial and acidic properties, lemons work wonders in treating acne, pimples and blackheads. It controls the oil secreted in the skin and tightens the pores helping you win a youthful glow and flawless face. Add a few drops of lemon to water in a 2:3 ratio and mix them well. Apply them on the affected areas or as a cleanser using cotton balls. Wash it off in cold water after 10 to 15 minutes. Remember not to bask in the sun with lemon on your face as it may cause severe sunburns.

The antibacterial and the citric acid content makes lemons work their pore-clearing magic. Mix them with coconut oil to create the perfect moisturizer to massage your face with.
