Having a healthy lifestyle is not an option anymore, it is mandatory. Luckily Social Diary is here to motivate you with fitness routine of your favourite celebrities! This week Navin Waqar shares her routine with us all.
- What’s your morning routine?
It’s quite basic. If I am working I wake up early like around 8am. If at home I wake by 10am, have my coffee and head for the gym. I spend at least 2 hours there switching between routines. I try and hold off lunch till after my workout or at least till 2pm.
- What is your usual workout routine like?
I try and keep switching it up. I do an hour of gym and 45 minutes of swimming. These days I am doing an hour of circuit training and kickboxing. I don’t do heavy weights but keep my heart rate up by mixing cardio with strength training at least 3 times a week.
- How important is breakfast for you? What do you have in it?
I like breakfast and I think it’s the most important meal of the day. I take a big breakfast so that I’m satiated for longer period of time. I love eggs so I have a lot of them. Scrambled, boiled or omelet; coffee (no sugar), half a grapefruit and a handful of almonds.
- What does being fit mean to you?
Its important to take care of yourself. Fitness to me isn’t about weight loss. It’s about endurance, strength and being healthy. Your body needs exercise to keep functioning properly. If you don’t take care of yourself, that can result to a lot of health problems. I have always been active but now I am more aware of how important it is for a healthy heart, body and mind.
- What is your take on junk food?
The less the better. I try and keep clear of it but of course I do sometimes indulge. Its empty calories really and does more damage than just tasting great. I have now learned the art of mindful eating after a long time. Eat good food and you will feel great.
- Do you follow any particular diet? Such as keto, paleo, vegetarian?
No. Unfortunately I cannot sustain a diet plan for too long. I instead follow a rule I know I can follow: no rice, only brown bread, lots of protein and vegetables. I drink plenty of fluids: water, green tea, black coffee, lemonade (salt, no sugar). I still eat dark chocolate or have an occasional mocha. I don’t see it as a diet. I see it as a balance I maintain.
