Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi Defamation Case: Lahore High Court Orders to announce verdict within 30 days!

A major ruling speeds up a high-profile legal battle. The Lahore High Court has set a tight deadline. This case has gripped public attention for years.

LHC Directs Trial Court: Finish Case in 30 Days

Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad issued a key directive. He instructed the trial court to conclude the case. The new deadline is within 30 days. This order aims for a swift resolution to the long-running suit.

Background: Understanding the Defamation Case

Singer Ali Zarf filed the defamation case against actress Meesha Shafi. The case originates from allegations made in 2018. The legal proceedings have continued since then. This new order accelerates the final phase.

High Court Rejects Meesha Shafi’s Petition

The ruling came on Tuesday. Justice Arshad rejected a petition by Meesha Shafi. She had challenged the trial court’s earlier gag order. That order barred both parties from public comments on the case.

Gag Order Upheld: No Public Statements Allowed

The trial court’s restriction remains in force. Meesha Shafi cannot make public statements about the case. The goal is to prevent media trial and ensure a fair process. The High Court’s rejection reinforces this silence until the verdict.

Why This Ruling Matters for Pakistan’s Legal System

This directive highlights judicial efficiency. It shows the court’s intent to resolve protracted cases. Public figures and legal experts are watching closely. The 30-day deadline sets a significant precedent.

Next Steps: The Trial Court’s 30-Day Deadline

All eyes are now on the trial court. It must conclude proceedings within one month. This includes hearing final arguments and issuing a verdict. The order pressures both legal teams to prepare quickly.

Conclusion: A Landmark Month Ahead for the Case

The Lahore High Court has cleared the path. The defamation case reaches its critical final stage. A verdict is expected within 30 days. This ruling promises a conclusive end to a highly publicized dispute.
