But sadly her father was a greedy man. Selma married with rich person. And Gibran could not afforded to married with Selma that’s why her father do greedy with Gibran.
Due to corruption they didn’t get married with each other.
Means her father broke wing behind those two lovers.

Including religious corruption the rights of women and lack thereof, the weighing up of wealth and happiness.
