HOUSTON – A tragic road accident in Houston, USA, has left Dania Zaheer, a 25-year-old Pakistani student, critically injured.
Dania, who is pursuing an MBA, was struck by a vehicle while the driver fled the scene. Originally from Karachi, Dania suffered fractures in six different bones and has been admitted to a Houston hospital, where she is scheduled for a major surgery today, Friday.
Speaking from her hospital bed, Dania shared her distress, stating that the driver didn’t even stop to check if she was alive or dead, leaving her dreams shattered by the incident.
The Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, Aftab Chaudhry, along with members of the Pakistani community, visited Dania at the hospital and prayed for her swift recovery. They assured her of their full support during this difficult time.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has also expressed deep sorrow over the incident and directed officials to provide full assistance to Dania Zaheer. He further stated that the government is ready to facilitate Dania’s parents should they wish to travel to the US to be with their daughter.
