A strong windstorm batters Karachi, leaving 11 dead and 27 injured as heavy rains hit the city. The sudden change in weather caused panic and damage in many areas. As the windstorm batters Karachi, incidents of falling walls and uprooted trees continue to raise safety concerns.
Severe Damage Reported Across Karachi
Firstly, the worst incident took place in Baldia Town. A wall collapsed near a telephone exchange, killing seven people and injuring six others. Rescue teams reached the spot quickly and shifted the injured to hospitals.
Meanwhile, in Quaidabad, a wall collapse killed a husband and wife inside their home. Similarly, in Landhi’s Yar Muhammad Goth, lightning struck a man, causing his death.
More Incidents Add to the Toll
In addition, a tree fell in Korangi, killing one man and injuring four others. In Clifton and Malir, falling walls and trees injured several people.
Furthermore, rainwater on roads caused accidents, leaving two people hurt. Strong winds also knocked down signboards on Rashid Minhas Road and Sir Shah Suleman Road.
