On Tuesday, police arrested former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Noreen Niazi, during a protest near Adiala Jail. They had gathered at the Dahgal checkpoint to demand a meeting with the jailed PTI leader. The dramatic scenes quickly drew nationwide attention.
Protest Turns Into Arrest
The sisters arrived with PTI supporters to push for access to their brother. Security officers stopped them from entering. Tensions rose as the group refused to leave. Police moved in, placed them in a van, and drove them toward Chakri Interchange. Witnesses said the area was heavily guarded and more PTI workers faced arrest.
Not the First Time
This is the second time in recent weeks they faced arrest at the same location. In the earlier protest, police also detained them but released them soon after. The repeated stand-offs show the growing friction between PTI and law enforcement.
The arrest of Aleema Khan and Noreen Niazi adds new fire to the political crisis surrounding Imran Khan. Supporters see the action as proof of government pressure. With more rallies planned, the clash between PTI and authorities appears far from over.
