Jordan – a shoe that just cannot stop becoming the news.
Jordans have made headlines again, and this time, partly thanks to the legendary rapper Eminem.
The draft for the new NFL season kicked off in Detroit, and befittingly. The city’s biggest star, Eminen, was invited to take center stage. In addition to Eminem, other famous athletes and celebrities attended the event.
In this elaborate event that featured multi-million dollar bidding, Eminem’s choice of footwear became a hot topic of discussion. The iconic Jordan 3s he sported on stage sparked a wave of curiosity and excitement that continued long after the event concluded.
Eminem Rocks the Jordan 3s on Stage at the NFL Draft
Eminem, who is not a stranger to Jordans and has been seen wearing them repeatedly, emerged onto the stage wearing a pair of the Jordan 3s “White Cement Regimented.” These crisp white sneakers support the classic Jordan 3 silhouette and are a nod to the brand’s coveted retro models.
The white leather upper offers timeless aesthetics, while the yellow sole sparks a vintage look. The shoe supports the same elephant print and splashes of Sail and Fire Red as the original Jordan 3 from the 1980s.
Nike released the Jordan 3 “White Cement Regimented” in 2023 to commemorate 35 years of the Jordan 3. The shoes became an instant hit and were immediately sold out. As a result, you cannot buy the Jordan 3 “White Cement Regimented” officially anymore. Therefore, they are being sold at a higher price at grey retailers.
What Next for the Jordan 3
Eminem’s choice of the Jordan 3 “White Cement Regimented” has not only sparked curiosity and excitement but also reinvigorated people’s interest in the sneaker lineup, demonstrating the significant influence of his fashion choices on the sneaker community.
All things considered, Nike could tap into people’s reinvigorated interest in the Jordan 3 and release another retro colorway. Since interest in the Jordan 3 is at an all-time high, another retro Jordan 3 release will immediately sell out.
Alternatively, Nike can look into retro iterations of other Jordan shoes as well. All Jordan shoes have a rich history; therefore, Nike could tap into the brand’s heritage and reimagine vintage models. This would also allow Nike to attract customers who may have missed out on coveted Jordan colorways and want to get their hands on one.
Other Sneaker Spotting at the NFT Detriot Draft
The Jordan 3s worn by Eminem became the highlight of the event. However, there were other cool sneakers worn at the NFT Detroit draft as well.
Drake Maye, quarterback who got drafted by the New England Patriots, was seen wearing a light blue color suit with Jordan 1 Retro Low OG UNC PE to match his outfit.
Other highlights of the event included Derrick Moree, the Michigan Wolverines national college football champion, wearing the Jordan 1 Retro Low OG SP Travis Scott Black Phantom, a shoe with reverse stitching and a crisp all-black look.
Apart from that, other popular retro Jordans, like the Jordan 1 bred colorway, could also be seen. However, the event was not only populated with Jordans. Fans and athletes also supported other cool kicks, like the Nike Air Force.
Overall, the diversity of sneakers seen at the NFL Detriot draft shows the true essence of the sneakerhead community. No matter who you are or what your taste in sneakers is – everybody appreciates a good sneaker.
