r. Kapotaqkhy Chanchala, who earned the title of Miss Pakistan Universal 2023 and subsequently represented Pakistan in the Miss World Tourism 2023 competition held in Sri Lanka, is now preparing to proudly represent Pakistan in Vietnam. Her journey from July 20 to 30 was filled with various tourism-related activities aimed at promoting Sri Lanka globally. Dr. Chanchala showcased exquisite Sri Lankan designer ensembles on the runway and explored vibrant cities like Colombo and Kandy, all in the pursuit of advancing Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.
Her next destination is Vietnam, where she will be Pakistan’s representative in the prestigious Miss Earth 2023 pageant, one of the world’s largest pageants. Among the Pakistani titleholders, Dr. Chanchala has been selected for this important task, and she is determined to do justice to her selection.
However, the Miss Earth pageant presents its unique challenges. Delegates are required to create seven videos highlighting their commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of our planet. The Miss Earth Pageant is a significant international environmental event that leverages the influence of the beauty pageant industry to raise awareness about environmental issues.
Recognizing the influence and aspiration associated with beauty queens, Carousel Productions introduced the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant in 2001 with the aim of actively engaging contestants and winners in advocating for environmental preservation and the protection of the Earth.
As the third-largest pageant globally, Miss Earth stands out for its unwavering focus on pressing environmental issues. Dr. Chanchala’s passionate advocacy centers on tree planting, a seemingly simple yet profoundly impactful endeavor. Trees serve as nature’s air purifiers, filtering pollutants and improving air quality. They provide vital habitats for diverse wildlife, regulate temperatures, and play a pivotal role in managing the water cycle, helping to prevent devastating floods, a critical concern in Pakistan.
Dr. Chanchala is actively working on a collaborative partnership with an organization dedicated to safeguarding Pakistan’s environment through various tree-planting initiatives. Additionally, she has undertaken the noble task of cleaning up the Sea View area in Karachi, addressing the litter problem that plagues this popular destination and contributing to a cleaner, more environmentally conscious Pakistan.
Dr. Chanchala’s unwavering commitment exemplifies her dedication to making a meaningful difference in the world. Sonia Ahmed, the President of Miss Pakistan, expressed pride in their longstanding affiliation with Miss Earth since 2005. She highlighted Pakistan’s need for comprehensive support to protect its pristine natural attractions and rejuvenate areas impacted by forest degradation. Dr. Chanchala will serve as a commendable ambassador for Pakistan, not only in Vietnam but also in the Philippines, where she will emphasize the importance of Pakistan’s commitment to environmental preservation.
