Recently, actress Hina Tariq, who was born in Lahore and now lives in Karachi for her acting career, spoke up about the long-running debate Hina Tariq Says Lahore and Karachi over their versions of biryani. For her, both cities have quite similar variations of chili.
She explained that she’s only seen a few areas, but told me there are some outstanding food options in Karachi. What I liked best were the Mandi and Nihari at your place.
When the topic of Karachi’s favorite dish arose, Hina offered a surprising answer. Her opinion is that the biryani from Lahore and Karachi tastes the same. The biryani I like most is still the one my ammi cooks at home. I find that the restaurant food falls short for me when I try it.”

She also said that she longs for home-cooked meals and her family in Lahore.
