I want to see coexistence, with love, affection, and sympathy thriving among us all, regardless of color, creed, language, and religious adherence. Let us exert tolerance and spread positivity in all facets of our lives. Inclination towards waging war and nursing acrimony should be nipped and curved with vehemence. I hope to see 2024 as a nation, free of any worldly pursuit.

2023 has been surreal. I celebrated my daughter’s first birthday and a week later buried our beloved father. I’ve seen the worst atrocities committed on babies and children by mankind. Then to my shock and horror, I’ve seen the so-called beacons of “civilisation”, upholders of humanity turn apologists for those very crimes. Many masks have fallen off. All the fake humanitarians were exposed. But where there has been death, destruction, and darkness; I’ve seen hope and light too. Many people have rediscovered their faith, which has inevitably strengthened their humanity, leading to a purposeful life. I thank Allah SWT for all my blessings, and for bringing the righteous together from different backgrounds and religions. I don’t know what the future holds but I know this – The world has changed.
