The India-Pakistan drone clash reached a new peak as Pakistan announced the downing of 25 Indian drones, while India reported successfully neutralizing retaliatory strikes. Tensions soared just a day after India claimed to have struck “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistan following a deadly attack in Kashmir that killed 26 people.
Pakistan Claims Drone Downings and Injuries
Pakistan’s military spokesperson reported that Israeli-made drones were shot down over key cities including Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. One drone reportedly hit a military site, injuring four soldiers. Pakistan condemned the drone strikes as “naked aggression” and warned of continued retaliation.
India Counters with Targeted Strikes
India’s defence ministry stated that its air defence neutralized attempted strikes by Pakistan and responded by targeting radar systems. India also reported civilian casualties from cross-border shelling.
Global Powers Urge Restraint
With nuclear-armed tensions rising, global leaders including the U.S., China, and Russia have called for immediate de-escalation to prevent further conflict.
