Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” has taken the box office by storm, becoming the highest-grossing movie of 2024 with an impressive $355 million in North America and $724 million globally. This animated sequel has swiftly overtaken the previous record holder, “Dune: Part Two,” which amassed $282 million domestically and $711 million worldwide.
In just two weekends, “Inside Out 2” has set a blistering pace, poised to become the first film of 2024 to surpass the $1 billion mark worldwide. Internationally, the film has generated $164.4 million from 44 territories during its second weekend, bringing its overseas total to $369.2 million. This makes it the third-highest international release of the year, trailing only “Godzilla x Kong” ($371 million) and “Dune: Part Two” ($429 million).
Key markets contributing to its success include Mexico ($63.9 million), the United Kingdom ($29.2 million), South Korea ($29 million), Germany ($17.9 million), and Brazil ($17.3 million). The film is set to debut in its final major market, Japan, on August 1, which is expected to further boost its impressive box office numbers.
