The melodious OST, composed and sung by Ahmed Jahanzeb, has taken over the Pakistani audience.
“Ishq Murshid,” directed by Farooq Rind and written by Abdul Khaliq Khan, is a big sensation among the audience these days.
Starring Bilal Abbas Khan and Durre Fishan Saleem as lead characters, the show has managed to captivate the audience every Sunday, leaving them in constant awe of the brilliant portrayal.
Without revealing much, “Ishq Murshid” is the story of a UK return politician’s son, Shahmeer, who falls for Shibra.
This love at first sight reaches a point where he disguises himself as Fazal Baksh, a government peon, now staying at Shibra’s place.
But romance is not the real key to “Ishq Murshid’s” success.
The story takes a few absurd turns where some of us have to shut down our brain cells to believe a strong woman like Shibra, preparing for CSS, falling for a man who neither matches their status nor education.
“Ishq Murshid’s” real success apart from its OST, is also the main lead Bilal Abbas Khan’s alluring charm and brilliant acting skills that have taken over the audience.
He’s not just a handsome face but a man who acts with his eyes and makes the audience laugh with his silly antics as Fazal Baksh.
Durre Fishan Saleem has also left no stone unturned to prove herself a wonderful actor.
If we’re talking about “Ishq Murshid” success, special mention goes to Ali Gul Mallah, the OG Fazal Baksh whose identity Shahmeer stole.
Ali Gul is a renowned Sindhi theater actor, and in this drama, he has certainly won the hearts of millions with immaculate comic timing and perfect dialogue delivery.
“Ishq Murshid” is not a perfect story, has flaws mainly in the story writing, which somehow falters in convincing you to believe in Shibra and Shahmeer/Fazal Baksh’s love.
But when these two people come onscreen, one can’t help but admire their acting skills.
Amidst the toxicity shown on our screens, “Ishq Murshid” is a drama that shows a father, an honest government officer who roots for his both daughters, Shibra and Sukaina.
Special shoutout to Samiya Mumtaz, who appears in a cameo but her screen presence leaves you yearning for more.
Overall, Ishq Murshid is a lovely drama that is show at prime time on our screens.
