A heartbreaking final message has emerged from a Pakistani sailor held hostage by Somali pirates. The crew member’s last words to his family have surfaced online. They reveal fear, love, and desperate hope.
The Current Hijacking Situation of Pakistani crew on Somalia Vessel!
Somali pirates seized an oil tanker named “Honour 25” (also referred to as “Owner 25”) on April 21, 2026. The attack happened near the Somali coast in the Gulf of Aden. The vessel was traveling from Oman carrying oil.
The ship has a foreign captain and 11 Pakistani crew members on board . Other nationalities include Indonesian, Indian, and Myanmar citizens . According to officials, the vessel carries a total of 17 crew members from five different countries.
The Last Message from Pakistani Crew on Somalia Vessel That Broke Hearts
A relative shared a message circulating on social media. It describes the crew’s dire situation in painful detail.
“My brother in law (husband’s brother) is currently among the crew of an oil tanker that has been hijacked near the Somali coast. It has now been several days, and the situation is becoming increasingly distressing. We have received worrying updates that communication may soon be completely cut off, and there are concerns about basic necessities like food.”
The message reveals the human cost. Two young boys are waiting for their father.
“He has 2 little boys who don’t laugh the same way anymore. They keep sending voice notes to their father’s contact number and listening to those audios is extremely painful. They ask when will baba come back? And we don’t have answer to this question.”
The family is breaking inside. The relative wrote that the children’s mother “is holding herself together for her kids but she’s silently breaking inside.”

Crew Conditions: No Food, Armed Threats
Family members who last spoke to the crew on Friday described horrific conditions. The captives reportedly have no food. They are under severe stress. The pirates are heavily armed.
Previous Somali pirate hijackings offer a glimpse of what hostages endure. In past incidents, crew members lost 20kg to 30kg of body weight. They faced torture and abuse during captivity lasting months or years. The pirates have reportedly demanded a ransom, though the exact amount has not been disclosed .
Government Response: Rescue Efforts Underway
Pakistan’s government has launched an urgent rescue bid. Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi addressed the media. He assured that the hostages have not been abandoned .
“We are fully engaged and not ignoring the situation,” Hashmi said .
But for the families, every hour feels like a year. Two young boys keep sending voice notes to their father. They still ask when baba will come back.
