Investigation Reveals a Heartbreaking Twist
The tragic discovery came after her grandmother, Ms. Musarat Bibi, filed a missing report. CCTV footage led police to the suspect—10-year-old Azan Sultan, a close relative living in the same household. During questioning, Azan reportedly confessed, saying he drowned the child in sewer water because he “didn’t like her.”

Authorities have moved the boy to the Child Protection Bureau following court orders. The community remains in disbelief, struggling to process how such a young child could commit such a crime. Maryam’s body was returned to her family after the postmortem.
