Pakistan’s Call for Oscar 2025 Entries: Submit Your Film Before August 15
The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has officially announced its call for submissions for the 98th Academy Awards. Local filmmakers are invited to submit their films for the prestigious International Feature Film category by 5 PM on August 15, 2025.
What Makes a Film Eligible?
To be eligible, a film must:

Be produced outside the United States

Feature more than 50% non-English dialogue

Be a feature-length film, including animations and documentaries

Have a qualifying theatrical release of at least seven consecutive days in a commercial cinema between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025, outside the US and its territories
Films released on streaming platforms, TV, or airline entertainment prior to this theatrical run are not eligible.
How the Selection Works
The committee includes filmmakers, artists, and industry experts who independently view and vote on the submissions. The final selection, approved by the International Feature Film Executive Committee, becomes Pakistan’s official Oscar entry.

Notable past entries include The Glassworker, Joyland, and In Flames, all representing Pakistan on the global film stage.
