Sydney, April 16 Anam and Amal Faheem, Pakistani Sisters Among Six Stars to reach Australian Junior Squash circuit, have made it to the semifinals of the coveted Australian Junior Squash Open 2025, thereby joining the league of six distinctive gentlemen luminaries exiting from every corner of the world.
There were contests at the Carrara Squash Centre in Queensland throughout several age categories quite intense; however, it was Pakistan’s young duo that magnetized the extra attention, exhibiting extraordinary skill, stamina, and determination.
Anam Faheem, representing the U-17 girls, performed impeccably against Australia’s Emily Hargraves in the quarterfinals. With powerful strokes all the way, she won the match with a 3-0 score. Such poise and temperament are rarely witnessed among players of her age. Her precise shot placement and swift movement on the court made it hard for her rival to get into rhythm.
Younger sister Amal Faheem matched her sister for prominence in the U-15 division, defeating the top seed from New Zealand, Isabella Taukamo, in a gripping five-match contest. After more than 40 minutes of showering magic on the court, the match went to Amal 11-7, 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9.
This year is historic, with the simultaneous entry of two sisters from the country into the medals round of the Australian Junior Squash Open, a proud moment for the squash fraternity in Pakistan.
“We are immensely proud of Anam and Amal,” the junior program director of the Pakistan Squash Federation said in a statement. “They are not only winning matches; they are inspiring a new generation of young Pakistani players, especially girls, to take up squash competitively.”
In the semifinals, the Pakistani Ali Sisters Among Six Stars to Reach Australian Junior Squash will face a tough international contest. Anam will face Siti Noor Aisyah from Malaysia, while Amal will face hometown favorite Mia Nguyen from Australia.
The Australian Junior Open holds a prime placement on the World Junior Circuit tournament calendar, which serves as a launching ramp for tomorrow’s champions. So far, the stage has been set for the Faheem sisters to walk onto that path.
The semifinals will be held tomorrow. Back home in Pakistan and around the world, everyone will be keenly watching and cheering for the rising stars of squash.
