Renowned Indian lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar’s comments on Pakistani artists working in India have stirred controversy across the border. During a recent media interaction, Akhtar claimed that the movement of Pakistani artists to India was “one-way traffic” and insinuated that India’s freedom and rights could not be showcased if Pakistani artists were banned. His statements have not sat well with many in Pakistan.
