On the occasion of Pakistan Day, 23rd March 2024
Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, Balochistan Acting Governor Abdul Khaliq Achakzai and Khyber Pakhunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali awarded honours to various personalities at the respective Governor Houses.
Punjab
At the Governor House in Lahore, Governor Balighur Rehman gave away the civil awards. Actress Sajal Ali, TV personality Juggan Kazim, and qawwal Imran Aziz Mian were honoured with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the chairman of the Rye-e-Hilal Committee, was also honoured.
Others who were conferred with the medal were Prof Dr Kanwal Amin for her excellent work in education, Dr Ghulam Abbas for his valuable services in the field of medicine, Qari Wasimullah Amin in religion, Dr Hammad Umar for his services in the engineering department, Dr Muhammadyar for his services in the education department, along with Zahid Malik from Journalism as well as Prof. Dr. Amir Saeed Bhatti, Prof Dr Shahid Munir, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ziaul Haq.
Sindh
At the Governor House in Karachi, Governor Kamran Tesori awarded civil honours to important personalities from various fields. Actor Adnan Siddiqui, Qadir Bux Mithoo, Sheema Kirmani, and Mai Dhai were awarded with the President’s Pride of Performance Award.
Mufti Muneebur Rahman was honoured with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, as were former police inspector general Kaleem Imam, Arif Habib and Mirza Ikhtiar Baig for public service. Other awardees of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz were former Sindh chief secretary Sohail Rajput and Aziz Memon for public services.
A total of 73 people belonging to different fields have been awarded with civil honours at the ceremony in Sindh.
Balochistan
Acting Balochistan Governor Abdul Khaliq Achakzai conferred the civil awards on those personalities who have rendered outstanding services in various fields.
The late Justice (retd) Muhammad Noor Miskanzai was bestowed with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for public service, and the award was received by his son. Lal Jan Jaffer was also awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for public service.
Dr Maryam was conferred with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The awards distribution ceremony in Peshawar saw eminent personalities honoured with the civil awards at the Governor House. Governor Haji Ghulam Ali awarded the honours to various personalities.
Actors Ishrat Abbas and Ajab Gul, and singer Hamayoon Khan were awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance Award, as was Noor Din alias Chacha Noora for his art of shoemaking.
Amjad Aziz Malik was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his journalistic services. Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his public services. Actor Abdul Batin Farooqi and singer Almas Khalil were honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
In sports, Danish Atlas, a squash player, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, painter Ajab Khan and poet Hisamuddin Aseer Mengal were awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance Award, while producer Aziz Ijaz and painter Jahanzeb Malik are also among the awardees of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Gilgit-Baltistan
Civil awards were also given to 10 people in Gilgit-Baltistan, who performed prominently in various fields.
Governor Syed Mehdi Shah gave away the president’s civil awards in a ceremony held at Governor House. Among the awards were Tamgha-e-Shujaat, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Tamgha-e-Basalat and Pride of Performance.
Government ministers, senior civil officers also participated in the brief ceremony.
