Khawaja Shamsul Islam Shot Dead in Karachi After Friday Prayers
Renowned lawyer Khawaja Shamsul Islam was shot dead outside a mosque in Karachi’s DHA Phase VI. His son was also injured in the attack. The tragedy happened just after they had finished Friday prayers.
A Targeted Shooting Outside the Mosque
Police say a masked gunman waited near the Quran Academy mosque. As Islam and his son stepped out, the attacker opened fire. Islam was hit in the abdomen, and his son was shot in the back. The shooter escaped on a motorcycle before anyone could stop him.
A Respected Name in Civil Law
Islam was well-known for his work in civil law. He had handled over 500 legal cases during his career. He also represented clients in high-value property disputes in Karachi. One of his most talked-about cases involved Fatima Jinnah’s house, Qasr-e-Naz.
A Community in Shock
