Punjab Assembly Pushes for TikTok Ban in Pakistan
A fresh resolution demanding a permanent TikTok ban in Pakistan has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly. The motion highlights growing concerns over the platform’s impact on young users.
Resolution Targets Obscene Content on TikTok
Opposition member Farrukh Javed Moon submitted the resolution. He urged the federal government to act quickly and block the app nationwide. The document claims that TikTok is spreading obscenity and nudity, especially through its live chat feature.
TikTok Influencing Youth Behavior
The resolution warns that young boys and girls are using TikTok to share inappropriate content. It says these actions go against Islamic values and social traditions. The trend is also said to encourage fame-seeking and money-making at the cost of moral development.
Call for Immediate Action
The Punjab Assembly appealed to the federal government for an immediate and permanent ban. Lawmakers believe that banning TikTok is necessary to protect the younger generation from harmful influences.
This is not the first time TikTok has faced restrictions in Pakistan. In the past, the app was temporarily blocked over similar complaints.
