In most parts of the country, we are facing blazing heat waves, and are constantly on the lookout for drinks and foods to keep us cool. This superfood smoothie has so many good ingredients within it – mango, yoghurt, walnuts, banana, turmeric and cinnamon are also great at keeping you at your best even in the stifling heat. And the best part: it will be healthy any time of year.
Orange Turmeric & Vanilla Yoghurt Smoothie
Ingredients
½ cup frozen mango cubes
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup vanilla yoghurt
2 tbsp walnuts
1 tbsp honey
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp cinnamon powder
¼ tsp vanilla extract + extra if using plain yoghurt
1 frozen banana
Method
- Place the mango, orange juice, vanilla yoghurt (or plain), walnuts, honey, turmeric, cinnamon powder, vanilla extract and banana in a high-speed blender.
- Blend until smooth and check the consistency. Add a little water to dilute, if needed.
- Serve chilled.
Tip: If you do not have vanilla yoghurt at hand, use regular yoghurt and add a little more vanilla extract
