Rajab Moon Sighting Confirms Start of 1447 AH
The Rajab moon has been sighted across Pakistan, officially marking the start of 1st Rajab 1447 AH on Monday, December 22, 2025. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting after reports came in from several regions. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony issued the official notification.
Why Rajab Is Important
Rajab is one of the four sacred months in Islam. During this month, Muslims are encouraged to pray more, fast voluntarily, give charity, and focus on spiritual growth. It is a time to slow down and reflect on one’s faith.
Shab-e-Miraj Date Announced
The committee also announced that Shab-e-Miraj will be observed on Friday, January 16, 2026 (InshaAllah). This night honors the miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and is a key religious event.
Preparing for Sha’ban and Ramadan
Rajab serves as a spiritual preparation for the coming months of Sha’ban and Ramadan. It encourages believers to repent, improve habits, and strengthen their connection with Allah.
