Director Claims He Wrote the Script but Got No Acknowledgment
Actor and director Shamoon Abbasi has claimed that he created the story and script for HUM TV’s popular drama Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi, but was not given any writing credit. The show, starring Wahaj Ali and Sehar Khan, has gained attention for its fresh take on horror-comedy.
Abbasi shared his side of the story in a detailed Instagram post. He said he spent four months developing the story, building the plot, and even came up with the show’s title. But when scripts were handed out on set, his name was missing from the writer’s credit. The official credit names Syed Nabeel as the writer.
“I created the story, dictated scenes, and shaped the screenplay. My name was on the early drafts. It’s disappointing to be left out,” Abbasi wrote.
He also mentioned that he had planned to direct the drama himself. However, even after stepping back from direction, he expected at least to be credited as the writer.

Abbasi said he is not looking to start a fight but wants to raise awareness about credit issues in the entertainment industry. He added that he has proof to back up his claim.
Despite his disappointment, Abbasi expressed happiness that the drama is performing well.
“It shows that audiences connect with my ideas. That’s what matters to me,” he concluded.
No Response from HUM TV or Syed Nabeel Yet
As of now, the team behind Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi has not responded to Abbasi’s claims.
