In a heartbreaking case from Gurugram, Indian tennis player Radhika Yadav lost her life after being shot by her father, Deepak Yadav. At just 25, Radhika had represented her state in tennis tournaments and later started her own tennis academy. After suffering a serious shoulder injury, she chose coaching to continue her passion for the sport.
What Happened That Morning?
On Thursday at around 10 a.m., a serious argument broke out between Radhika and her father. Deepak felt humiliated by people in their village who mocked him for relying on his daughter’s income. When Radhika refused to shut down her academy, the situation turned violent. Deepak pulled out his licensed .32 bore revolver and fired five shots. Three bullets hit Radhika.
Right after the shots, her uncle rushed to the scene. He found her lying in the kitchen, while the revolver was left nearby. Together with his son, he rushed her to Asia Maringo Hospital. Sadly, doctors declared her dead.
