Stargazers in Pakistan have a celestial treat. SUPARCO has announced the year’s first supermoon. It will be visible on October 7. This is the first of three upcoming supermoons.
What is a Supermoon?
A supermoon is a spectacular event. It happens when the moon is full. It also coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth. This point is called the perigee. The moon appears larger and brighter in the sky.
When to Watch the Supermoon in Pakistan
Mark your calendars for October 7. The supermoon will peak at 8:47 PM local time. Look towards the eastern horizon after sunset. The moon will be visible all night. It will set in the west before sunrise.
How Big and Bright Will it Be?
This supermoon will be a stunning sight. It will appear 6.6 percent larger than an average full moon. It will also shine 13 percent brighter. This creates a dramatic and luminous view.
Two More Supermoons Are Coming
The celestial show does not end in October. SUPARCO forecasts two more supermoons. The next one will be on November 5. The final supermoon of the year is on December 5. The November event is predicted to be the brightest supermoon of 2025.
