US Sinks 7 Iranian Boats
The US Navy destroyed seven Iranian fast attack boats. The clash happened in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Iran also fired missiles at the United Arab Emirates. Commercial ships came under attack. A major oil port in Fujairah went up in flames. This is the biggest escalation since the ceasefire began one month ago.
US Strikes Back: 7 Iranian Boats Sunk
The US response was swift and deadly. US Central Command confirmed its forces destroyed multiple Iranian vessels. Admiral Brad Cooper, the head of US Central Command, announced the details. US Navy ships shot down Iranian cruise missiles and drones. Then, US Apache helicopter gunships destroyed seven Iranian military speedboats. The US said the Iranian boats were threatening American and commercial ships . Iran quickly deny that any of its boats experience any attack.
Iran Launches Multiple Attacks
Tehran did not hold back. The Iranian military unleashed a wave of attacks across the region. No vessel was safe on Monday. Multiple commercial ships reports being hit. The British military’s UK Maritime Trade Operations center confirmed the attacks. A tanker was struck by “unknown projectiles” off the coast of Fujairah.
A cargo ship near Sirik, Iran also reported an attack by multiple small craft. South Korea confirmed one of its merchant ships, the Namu, suffered an explosion and fire. Fortunately, no crew members were report any injuries. Commercial shipping companies are likely to wait. They will not risk passing through the strait until a formal end to hostilities is reached.
