Benoit Blanc Is Back to Solve a Holy Murder
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery brings detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) back to the screen in his most chilling case yet. This time, the mystery leads him to a quiet church in the town of Chimney Rock, where a shocking murder stuns the community.
A Priest Dies During His Own Sermon
In the trailer released by Netflix, Father Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin) enters a private room behind the altar during a live sermon. He closes the door — the only way in or out — while the church watches. When the door opens again, Wicks is dead. No one saw anything. No one heard a sound.
With no clear suspect, the town turns to Blanc for answers.
Big Names, Bigger Twists
The film features a powerhouse cast. Alongside Craig and Brolin, we see:
- Josh O’Connor as Father Jud Duplenticy
- Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close
- Jeremy Renner and Andrew Scott
Each character adds tension and layers to the mystery.
A Gothic Tone with Classic Knives Out Fun
Director Rian Johnson says this third film in the series takes a darker, more gothic approach. Still, it keeps the fun and sharp dialogue fans love. Critics already praise it as the most playful film in the franchise.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery premieres in select theaters on November 26, and begins streaming on Netflix from December 12.
