But the state bank of Pakistan has issued special instructions for obtaining fresh Currency notes. This is done in order to avoid illegal seller is charging high prices.
Here are some of the methods that are official and fraud proof from which you can obtain fresh Currency notes at minimum prices!
Use 8877 SMS Service
The 8877 short code service activates in the second week of Ramadan. This is the simplest way to request fresh notes .
Follow these steps:
- Open your mobile SMS app
- Type your CNIC number, space, then your bank branch code
- Send the SMS to 8877
- You will receive a unique transaction code and branch address
Visit the designated branch with your original CNIC and a copy. Bank staff will verify your code. You will typically receive packets containing Rs 10, Rs 20, and Rs 50 notes .
Contact Your Bank Manager
If the SMS service is busy, reach out directly to your bank branch. Most commercial banks keep limited stocks of new notes for existing account holders. Account holders often receive priority access. Visiting a branch in early March increases your chances of success .
Visit SBP Bank Services Corporation Offices
Major cities have dedicated SBP BSC offices with large stocks of fresh notes. These locations include Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Notes are exchang on a first-come, first-serve basis. Early visits are strongly advice.
Check ATMs During Last Ten Days
Banks load clean Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes into ATMs during Ramadan’s final days. These higher denominations work well for gifting to older family. ATMs provide clean, quality cash notes throughout the festive period.
