She narrated that through the hijab she could enter mosques and meet Muslims of the locality, some of whom were extremely kind and open-hearted. This ended up making a great impression on her and finally led her to her decision for conversion.
Observing Ramadan
As Rae observes her first Ramadan, she has been maintaining an activity on social media regarding her experiences. Her posts also pictured her attending iftar dinners, visiting mosques, and praying, all consistent with her newly embraced faith.
Community Support and Challenges
Support from the community of Muslims has been coming to Rae with a close heart. At a meet-and-greet event in Singapore, she received gifts such as prayer mats and travel prayer kits as encouragement from the community. She also posted some memories from her visits to different mosques, emphasizing how inclusive she has felt. Nonetheless, the past keeps finding ways to challenge her. Although Rae has removed any explicit content from her social media, some past footage keeps appearing. In her words, “Those videos were produced in the past and released by production houses against my will. I have since wholeheartedly embraced the new path I am in. Each one of you should please concentrate on your life”.
