Keto-friendly treats: That are satisfying and guilt-free!

Whether you’re craving something savoury, crunchy, or sweet, these keto-friendly snacks are perfect for satisfying your cravings while keeping you within your macros.  

keto-friendly snacks - creamy guacamole

 

Creamy Guacamole

 

Ingredients

1 avocado, peeled and mashed

½ onion, finely chopped

½ tomato, diced

1 tsp minced garlic

2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander

Juice of ½ lemon

Cayenne pepper to taste

Salt to taste

 

Method

  1. Combine the avocado, onion, tomato, and garlic in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add the fresh coriander and lemon juice, then season with cayenne pepper and salt to taste.
  3. Mix everything until well combined.
  4. Serve immediately with keto-friendly crackers or vegetable sticks.

Quick Keto Mug Bread

 

Ingredients

75 g almond flour

2 eggs

5 g baking powder

4 g salt

5 g butter

 

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the almond flour and eggs until well combined.
  2. Add the baking powder and salt, and continue mixing to form a batter. Add water as needed to achieve the right consistency.
  3. Pour the batter into a pre-greased mug or bowl.
  4. Microwave on High for two minutes, checking for doneness. If needed, increase the time in short increments until the bread is fully cooked. 
  5. Let it cool slightly before slicing and enjoying with your favourite keto-friendly spread.

 

Keto Cheese Crackers With Basil Pesto Veggies

 

Ingredients 

For the cheese crackers:

60 g gouda or parmesan cheese

A pinch of oregano

A pinch of chilli flakes

 

For the stuffing:

50 g paneer and mixed veggies (broccoli, spinach, sun-dried bell peppers, etc)

 

For the basil walnut pesto sauce:

20 g fresh basil

3 cloves garlic

10 ml olive oil

5 g walnuts

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Method

  1. To prepare the cheese crackers, heat a non-stick pan and place two heaps of cheese on it, allowing them to melt. As the cheese melts, sprinkle it with oregano and chilli flakes. Once melted and slightly crispy, carefully mould each cheese cracker into a cup shape to hold the stuffing.
  2. Saute the paneer and mixed veggies, and set aside.
  3. To prepare the basil walnut pesto sauce, pulse the fresh basil, garlic, olive oil, walnuts, salt, and pepper slowly together in a mixer. Pulsing  slowly maintains the pesto’s flavour without turning it bitter.
  4. Fill the cheese cracker cups with a mixture of sautéed mixed veggies and paneer, then drizzle with the basil walnut pesto sauce.

 

keto-friendly snacks - peanut butter chocolate bites

 

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bites

 

Ingredients

10 g peanuts

30 ml cream

20 g unsweetened cocoa powder

30 g peanut butter

Stevia to taste

 

Method

  1. Dry roast the peanuts and peel them.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the cream, cocoa powder, and peanut butter on a low flame for about 40 seconds to one minute. Remove from the flame and add the stevia and roasted peanuts, reserving some to garnish.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a shallow flat plate to form a thick layer. Garnish with some roasted peanuts on top. 
  4. Cover the plate and freeze the mixture for three to four hours.
  5. Once set, cut into bite-sized pieces and enjoy.

 

Almond Flour Crackers

 

Ingredients

1 cup almond flour

¼ tsp salt

1 tbsp melted coconut oil

1 egg

 

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the almond flour, salt, coconut oil, and egg in a bowl to a dough.
  3. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to a thin layer. Cut the dough into squares and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes  or until golden and crispy. Allow to cool before serving.

 

These keto-friendly snacks are not only delicious but also easy to prepare, making them perfect for anyone looking to curb cravings while staying on track with their diet. Enjoy these snacks as part of your healthy lifestyle, and keep those cravings at bay!
