The Lahore High Court has dismissed a petition filed by YouTuber Iqra Kanwal seeking to have the gambling promotion case against her thrown out.
Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the petition . The case was originally registered against her by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in September 2025 .

The NCCIA registered the gambling app promotion case against Iqra Kanwal on September 24, 2025 .
She was among several prominent social media influencers booked by the agency. Others include Nadeem Mubarak alias Naniwala, Muhammad Hasnain Shah, Rajab Butt, and Anas Ali . The cases were registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and fraud-related laws .
Iqra Kanwal’s Argument in Court
Iqra Kanwal’s lawyer challenged the First Information Report (FIR) before the high court .
The counsel argued that the case filed against his client was false and contained incorrect facts . He maintained that the petitioner had not encouraged any of her followers to invest in or use gambling applications . The lawyer urgently sought that the court quash the case immediately .
NCCIA’s Strong Opposition
The NCCIA counsel strongly opposed the petition during the hearing . The government lawyer presented serious allegations against the YouTuber. He stated that the accused had used her YouTube fame to encourage people to invest in gambling apps . This caused financial losses to the general public .
Court’s Decision
After hearing preliminary arguments from both sides, the court dismissed the petition . Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh ruled against Iqra Kanwal’s request. The case against her will proceed through the normal legal channels . The investigation by NCCIA will continue. The agency will now complete its probe and submit a report to the relevant forum.

The NCCIA stated that the accused were summoned multiple times but deliberately avoided appearing before investigators .
Specific Apps Under Scrutiny
These applications include Binomo, 1xBet, Bet 365, and B9 Game . Authorities claim these platforms defrauded users by taking their hard-earned money and not paying out any profits . For now, the Lahore High Court has made its position clear. The case must run its course. Iqra Kanwal will have to face the investigation and prove her innocence through proper legal channels.
