A Tournament to Remember
The Blind T20 World Cup was hosted across Lahore and Multan, showcasing thrilling cricketing action. However, the tournament was also marked by controversy as India declined to participate, citing travel restrictions.
Despite receiving a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from India’s Sports Ministry, the Ministry of External Affairs refused to grant permission for the team to travel to Pakistan. According to Sailendra Yadav, General Secretary of the Indian Blind Cricket Association, delays and eventual denial forced India to withdraw from the tournament.
“We were waiting for 25 days for government permission, but we were informed verbally that we won’t be allowed to travel,” said Yadav.
A Landmark Achievement
This victory is a significant milestone for Pakistan’s blind cricket team, highlighting their skill and perseverance. With their stellar performance, the team has set a new benchmark in blind cricket, making the nation proud on the global stage.
