The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee plans to meet at Peshawar for crescent moon observation on Friday, February 28 2025 before commencing Ramadan 1446 AH. After the Asr prayers, the session will start under the leadership of Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Each zonal committee will organize meetings throughout Pakistan to gather and assess reports about the moon sighting.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted the birth of the new moon at 5:45 PM on February 28. The predicted crescent emergence on March 1 creates a possibility for Pakistan to start fasting during Ramadan on March 2.
