Amid Karachi’s recent torrential rains, actor Shuja Asad has voiced a powerful message advocating for the unsung heroes of the drama industry — the behind-the-scenes crew and workers who often go unnoticed.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the College Gate star expressed deep concern over the unsafe working conditions many crew members endure. These individuals, who are the true backbone of the entertainment world, often lack basic safety gear such as gloves, boots, or protective equipment, especially during extreme weather events like Karachi’s latest downpour.

Dignity, Safety, and Recognition for Crew Members
Shuja emphasized that while actors are often prioritized and cared for, the same can’t be said for the crew. Many of these workers travel long distances from the outskirts of the city, only to face neglect at work. “One slip, a live wire, or unsafe conditions can cost someone their life,” he wrote.

Fellow actor Kubra Khan supported his sentiments, saying her heart breaks to see those who “hold it all together” being ignored. She stressed that a production cannot start without every team member — from spot boys to makeup artists — and warned that when tragedy strikes due to oversight, it becomes negligence, not an accident.
