Finally a play devoid of saas bahu, love triangles, unnecessary infidelity:
It is rare to find a television program where every single actor, without fail, has successfully embodied the character.
Sadly, Pakistan is not home to many writers of this caliber who are capable of developing characters beyond the conventional “hero-heroine” tropes.
But the writers of this serial; Awais Ahmad and Adeel Afzal allowed themselves to experiment with the characters this time.
There is a story, the dialogues and the screenplay and every character get a chance to standout, which actually explains the writer’s knack.
The characterization, their exchanges, and the turns and turns are all fantastic.
Many facets of society are highlighted in this drama including the life of androon Lahore.
The plight of actors, the clash & differences between the younger and the older generation.
Along with ragging emotional Youth, joint family setup, women empowerment (in a positive way) and all of that portrayed with a light hearted manner.
Kabir’s character played by Daniyal Zafar might be looking dull to many but believe me he could be the next Noman Ijaz if polished accurately. He has the ability to act solely through his expressions and eyes.
Zara played by Zara Noor Abbas wasn’t so appealing since she tried to showcased herself a raw/natural but her look still needs a lot of working.
Sohail Ahmad as Nana Miyan has already won over many hearts with his stealer performance and I must say if you were around his theater era you really should watch it to relive that time again.
Even the supporting cast performed so well like both the Mamis.
The phupo aka No Filters who actually brought a true Punjabi characters to our screen and made us believe k Punjabi are more than their loud personalities.
Adnan shah tipu as #Bulbula brought so much diversity while remaining in a single character.
Saqib Sameer as #Raju mesmerized with his diverse performance this time too.
Not to be forgotten is Kashif Nisar.
Who never fails to demonstrate that even the simplest things can work as well. We give you a standing ovation, Sir, for once again bringing a masterpiece to our screens.
Ending of drama was so real unlike other traditional/fictional stories.
They didn’t show any non practical ideas to pursuit love only.
Instead, Zara and Kabir accepted each other’s priorities and responsibilities whole heartedly and moved on.
