The internet is buzzing as viewers compare Ushna Shah in Ghair and Samiya Mumtaz in Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan—two women, two dramas, one powerful theme: false accusations and character assassination. While both tackled emotionally charged roles, the question stirring debate is: Who truly did justice to the part of the falsely accused?
Ushna’s performance in Ghair has drawn mixed reactions—despite the drama’s bold storyline and impactful direction, many feel her portrayal didn’t pack the emotional punch expected.
Let the debate begin!
Many viewers felt that Ushna’s portrayal lacked the emotional depth- specifically for a character who was facing false accusations and character assassination!
The authenticity needed to resonate with the audience was missing. Her character, which was pivotal to the story, required a nuanced performance that would bring out the complexities of the role. Unfortunately, critics argue that Ushna did not rise to this challenge, resulting in a disconnect between her performance and the powerful themes of the show.
In contrast, Samiya Mumtaz delivered a convincing and remarkable performance in ‘Meri Zaat Zar-e-Be Nishan.’
Showcasing her ability to embody complex emotions and engage the audience effectively. Her portrayal was widely praised and highlighted her talent as an actress.
Both Ushna and Samiya have faced false accusations in their respective characters.
Which adds another layer of complexity and similarity to the discussion of their performances. While Ushna’s role in ‘Ghair’ did not meet the expectations set by the show’s strong narrative, Samiya’s work in ‘Meri Zaat Zar-e-Be Nishan’ stands out as a testament to her skills as an actress.
Ushna completely missed the opportunity to deliver an excellent performance!
from her look to her acting, she is the weakest link in Ghair. Perfectly blow dried hair, full face of makeup and dresses worth 20k to 30k don’t match with her characters. Ghair has everything, fast paced storytelling, good direction, solid writing and high production value. However, the main character, Wafa played by Ushna is insufferable to watch.
She lacks expressions and her dialogues don’t feel genuine. Obviously, when your look doesn’t match the story you’re telling, plot becomes laughable. The writer gave her beautiful lines and a wonderful opportunity to reach new heights in her career but she threw it away and chose to look “perfect” on screen, rejecting the requirements of her character.
The pictures shared show two similar characters yet you can see the CLEAR difference.

Samiya Mumtaz transformed herself beautifully into her role and wasn’t stubborn about wearing a full face of makeup and cheap clothes. On the other hand, Ushna made poor choices, prioritizing her appearance over the demands of the character, ruining the experience for the audience.
Ultimately, the contrasting experiences of these two actresses reflect the challenges they face in the industry, where talent can sometimes be overshadowed by external controversies and public perception.
