indagi Tamasha (circle of life) the most speculated movie of Sarmad Khoosat was released on YouTube due to facing difficulties from authorities. Sarmad Khoosat talked about this difficulties in several interviews and hinted that he might consider releasing it on YouTube if nothing goes well. And unfortunately the fate of Zindagi Tamasha came down to digital media.
Sarmad Khoosat wrote a heartfelt note stating his movie release and also added a short video before the movie stating the cinematic experience might be lost for the audience but the story might move some and it really did.

Starting will the general perception. People had high hopes for the film, I guess, too high. The job they did with the trailer and the top-notch soundtrack is to blame for such high expectations.
Still, even with such high hopes, the film manages not to displease a lot.
Some of the highs that stayed with the audience were, The topic the movie addresses is interesting, relevant, and important. The cinematography was great, some of the shots were really creative. The soundtrack was the best part of the film. Although I didn’t like the placement of Ali Sethi’s track.
At the same time there were things that didn’t work out well. one of them were the screenplay was not great, at all. But that’s something wrong with most of Pakistani films I’ve watched. Very few manage to create a screenplay that’s natural. The acting was off, sometimes. Esp. the background artists. Again, common in Pakistani films and dramas.
I love to watch his movies because of his literacy taste & foremost he always touch to controversial topic but what startled me there is nothing such controversial that it has been banned.
Synopsis
Now I would just highlight the brief synopsis of story. The story of movie oscillates on protagonist who is a religious aged person, he is naat hawan,on one occasion at event of marriage of his friend’s son when his friend insisted him to dance as in his childhood he was a good dancer, he does it as when his friend insisted him to dance as it was event of wedding ,he does so as amusement but someone makes his video & viral it on social on media.
As a result,everyone abhor him.The attitude of religions stratas is clearly visible when they ostracize him,they don’t permit him to attend Miland in Rabi ul awal.They hate him even people of his street or mohala refuse to take niaz from him.Everyone hate him.The best scene is when one of clergyman says him to seek forgiveness from people while making video so that people can forgive him for such major sin.While one of molvi is saying to him turn his visage towards Mosque of Badshahi,then seek forgiveness but everytime that clergyman refuses and says this video is not fine.In third turn he says even supplicate to God for destruction of America which triggers to conflict between that molvi & nat hawan.He refuses to do as its is irrelevant from his matter.Then he says to clergyman that dance is a major sin but what about you people who molest kids.This sentence portrayed true picture of clergymen. His own daughter who is married hate him for such act.
Infact that person is pious but someone tricks to manipulate his repu.He tries to exonerate himself from false allegations.The crux of the movie is how our society in context of religious snerio makes people as if they are accountable for their sins.Society does not forgive people & secondly how religious extremist is fostering in our society..
Overall the movie had nothing controversial, it could easily be released in cinemas.
Sarmad Khoosat also made guest appearances in the movie, depicting the two sides of the society. As a respectable man and as someone who is free and can be anything given the chance and space.
Overall the movie had mixed reviews, but one thing that it should be played in cinemas is unanimous. Social media was chanting with this unjustice.
zindagi tamasha was meant to be a cinema experience. this story is meant to be collectively watched and get the chance to observe feelings of people around you during and right after the film. it’s a simple story told with a lot of care and heart.
