In order to curb the national issue of petrol prices. The federal government has launched a new scheme. It focuses on electric bikes. The goal is to promote eco-friendly transport. It also aims to reduce fuel costs. Government employees can now get these bikes on easy instalments. This is great news for those struggling with high fuel prices. The scheme offers a significant subsidy. It makes electric bikes affordable for many.

Who is Eligible for the Electric Bike Scheme by the Government?

Eligibility is specific. The scheme targets government employees. Their salaries must process through Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).

If your salary is not processed through AGPR, you cannot apply. Applicants need an AGPR verification letter. This letter proves their employment status. The good news? No personal guarantees are required for the subsidy.

The Subsidy Amount and Structure for Electric Bike AGPR Scheme!

The government is offering a generous subsidy. Each bike gets Rs 80,000 off the price.

This subsidy has a specific structure:

  • Rs 30,000 goes to banks for interest support.
  • Rs 50,000 goes directly into the applicant’s bank account.

This lowers the monthly installment amount. It makes the bikes easier to afford.

Easy Instalments and Financing for Electric Bike Scheme!

How do you pay the rest? The scheme uses bank leasing. This means easy monthly instalments. The government has allocated Rs 9 billion for the current fiscal year. Over five years, they plan to spend Rs 100 billion on this cause.

Nearly 100,000 federal employees will benefit. By the end of the year, 116,000 electric motorcycles will be subsidized .

Special Quota for Journalists

The scheme includes journalists too. However, the terms are different. Journalists will get bikes on a self-financed basis. They do not get the installment plan offered to regular employees.

A separate quota for female journalists arrives later. It will launch in the second phase of the projec .

How to Apply for AGPR Electric Bike Scheme!

The process is straightforward. Eligible employees must follow a few steps:

  1. Get your AGPR verification letter ready.
  2. Apply through the official PAVE portal.
  3. Register the bike in your name to release the subsidy.

The subsidy only transfers after registration. You can apply at www.pave.gov.pk. You can also call the helpline at 1048 for help.

The electric bike scheme is a smart move. It helps government employees save money. It also helps Pakistan reduce fuel imports. If you are an AGPR employee, check the portal today. You can get an eco-friendly bike on easy instalments. Don’t miss this opportunity.
